Zelensky discusses Ukraine's air defense needs and sanctions against Russia with Graham
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky met with U.S. Senator Lindsey Graham in Kyiv to discuss strengthening Ukraine's air defense and the U.S. Congress's work on a sanctions bill against Russia. This was Graham's tenth visit to Ukraine.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky met with U.S. Republican Senator Lindsey Graham in Kyiv on Thursday, July 10. The talks focused on the need to bolster Ukraine's air defense capabilities and the progress of a congressional sanctions bill against Russia.
According to Zelensky, this marked Graham's tenth visit to Ukraine. The president briefed the senator on Ukraine's urgent air defense needs, and they also discussed the sanctions bill being advanced in Congress.
"I am grateful to Lindsey for recognizing our warriors. The stronger Ukraine is on the battlefield, the greater the chance that diplomacy will eventually work," Zelensky said.
Earlier the same day, Graham announced that an agreement had been reached with the White House on a version of the sanctions bill against Russia. In mid-November 2025, Graham stated that then-President Trump had "blessed" Congress to pass the long-stalled sanctions legislation. In January 2026, he said the U.S. president had given the green light to the bipartisan sanctions bill against Russia.
