The Russian army carried out a massive strike on Ukraine's capital Kyiv overnight on July 6, using ballistic and cruise missiles as well as attack drones, according to German news service Deutsche Welle, citing the Ukrainian Air Force.

The attack killed at least seven people, said Kyiv City Military Administration head Timur Tkachenko. At least 24 were wounded. In the Podilskyi district in northwestern Kyiv, a residential building was partially destroyed. In the Darnytskyi district in the southeast, three residential buildings were damaged, and in the Holosiivskyi district in the southwest, a fire broke out in a five-story building.

The Kyiv region also came under attack. In Buchanskyi district, one person was killed and ten wounded, said regional military administration head Mykola Kalashnyk. Private homes, enterprises, and other civilian infrastructure were damaged in Buchanskyi, Vyshhorodskyi, and Brovarskyi districts.

Odesa was also attacked overnight on July 6, said regional military administration head Serhii Lysak. One person was wounded and private homes were damaged.

Earlier, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, citing intelligence data, warned that Russia was preparing a massive strike on Ukraine. He called on international partners not to delay deliveries of air defense missiles.

In annexed Sevastopol, there is no electricity supply following a Ukrainian attack on energy infrastructure outside the city, BBC reported, citing Russian media. According to Moscow-appointed city head Mikhail Razvozhayev, a special regime has been introduced at facilities, and social objects have switched to backup power supply schemes.
