Russian ballistic missile hits railway facility in Kyiv's Darnytsia district, one worker killed
Russian forces struck a railway facility in Kyiv's Darnytsia district with a ballistic missile overnight on 21-22 August, killing one employee, while a separate strike damaged a railway station in Odesa Oblast.

Russian forces struck a railway facility in the Darnytsia district of Kyiv with a ballistic missile overnight between 21 and 22 August, according to Oleksandr Pertsovskyi, Chairman of the Board of state railway operator Ukrzaliznytsia.
A foreman working at the site was killed in the strike. Other staff members were evacuated quickly after the initial hit.
Timing of air-raid warning under review
Pertsovskyi said Ukrzaliznytsia is checking whether the missile struck at the same moment the official warning about a ballistic missile threat was issued, or possibly even a few seconds before the alert went out.
Odesa region also targeted
Separately, Russian forces attacked the railway network in Odesa Oblast, damaging the station in Rozdilna. Pertsovskyi said crews are dealing with the aftermath of that attack, and that it has not disrupted train services.
Ukrzaliznytsia remains one of Ukraine's largest employers and a key part of the country's wartime logistics and civilian transport, and its facilities have repeatedly come under Russian attack since the start of the full-scale invasion.
