A large-scale Russian attack on the night of July 5-6 claimed the lives of two employees of Ukrenergo, Ukraine's national electricity transmission operator. According to the company's press service, the victims were Inna Kucher and Kateryna Antiufieieva, who worked in the Employee Health and Wellbeing Support Department.

Both women lived in the same apartment building. Inna's husband was also killed in the attack, leaving their son an orphan. The assault, which occurred overnight, involved a massive combined strike using drones and various types of air-, land-, and sea-launched missiles.

Ukrainian air defenses managed to intercept 363 out of 419 aerial targets. However, 29 ballistic missiles and 18 attack drones struck 34 locations across the country. While air defenses were highly effective against cruise missiles and drones, no ballistic missiles were shot down. Air Force spokesperson Yurii Ihnat explained the reasons for this.

The main strike was directed at Kyiv. As of 10:00 a.m., 11 people were confirmed dead, with nearly 60 injured. In Kyiv, the death toll later rose to 15 after rescue workers recovered a woman's body from the rubble.
