New electric Porsche Cayenne tested in Latvia: is it still a real Porsche?
The new electric Porsche Cayenne Electric Turbo has been introduced in Latvia, with first impressions gathered both on track and off-road. Motorsport enthusiast Jānis Vanks and Porsche instructor Valters Zviedris shared their views on the electric SUV's character.
The new electric Porsche Cayenne has arrived in Latvia, and its first demonstration took place at the Raceway Baltic sports complex, which allows testing the car both on a racing track and in off-road conditions. The new model was presented by motorsport enthusiast and DBS driving school director Jānis Vanks, assisted by Porsche instructor Valters Zviedris.
The focus was on the powerful Cayenne Electric Turbo version. Vanks noted that this very car, capable of accelerating from zero to 100 km/h in 2.5 seconds, can also handle off-road driving. Zviedris pointed out that internal combustion engines rarely offer such power – 1,156 horsepower. The energy provided by electric drive is, in his words, astonishing and brings a smile.
Both experts emphasized that the new electric Cayenne is not only about massive power and a special suspension system. It has a longer wheelbase, which according to Zviedris provides stability on the road. Vanks believes that Porsche DNA remains present in electric cars, so in his opinion the electric Cayenne is still a real Porsche.
