UK to Increase Troop Numbers in Estonia to 1,200
The United Kingdom and Estonia have signed a renewed military cooperation agreement that will increase the British contingent in Estonia to 1,200 troops starting next spring.

On Thursday in Tallinn, UK Defence Minister John Jarvis and Estonian Defence Minister Hanno Pevkur signed a renewed military cooperation agreement that significantly expands the British presence in Estonia. Currently, around 900 British troops are stationed in Estonia, but under the new agreement, this number will rise to 1,200—an increase of 300.
Pevkur stated during a press conference that the increase will take effect next spring, most likely from April. He also noted that the UK will deploy additional assets capable of conducting deep strikes into enemy territory, primarily various types of long-range drones.
Jarvis emphasized that warfare methods are changing and that responses must evolve accordingly. He highlighted that a more mobile and faster unit is more effective against Russia than older-style units. The new unit has been specifically designed for Estonia to address the region's particular needs.
