A UK court has acquitted a former Nigerian oil minister who was accused of corruption. The charges involved receiving bribes – in the form of expensive homes and significant expenditures in the UK – from wealthy oil industry figures. The investigation lasted 13 years.

During the trial, the jury was not convinced of her guilt, despite the prosecution presenting evidence including an impressive jewelry collection and 125 wedding dresses. Ultimately, the court ruled that the accusations were not sufficiently substantiated, and the woman was found not guilty.
