Potato weighing 955 grams grown in Limbaži Parish
A gardener in Limbaži Parish, near Nabe Manor in Latvia, has grown a 'Jule' variety potato weighing 955 grams. She says all her potatoes turned out large this year.
A potato weighing almost a kilogram, 955 grams to be exact, has been grown in Limbaži Parish, near Nabe Manor in Latvia. The news was reported by the website of the local newspaper «Auseklis», which is published in the Limbaži area.
The record-holder was grown by Aija Andersone in her own garden. It is a 'Jule' variety potato. Andersone says that all of her potatoes turned out large this year, not just this one.
Other large potatoes
Among the potatoes she dug up were also some weighing 600 and 700 grams, but the 955-gram one was the biggest. According to Andersone, eleven of the large potatoes were enough to fill an entire basket.
