Latvian authorities are examining the possible trading of temporary residence permits (TRPs), and three people have come into focus: Ņina Linde, a doctor of science, and Gerald and Doris Hopstedter. Interior Minister Jānis Dombrava of the National Alliance (NA) party ordered the check.

According to information available on the company data portal firmas.lv, these individuals are linked to several companies. The companies operate with no turnover, yet foreigners have invested at least €50,000 in their share capital.

The source gives no details on any violations found or on the outcome of the check. It also does not say how many companies are involved or how many foreigners made investments. What is known so far is that the minister asked for the individuals' connection to the alleged permit trading to be clarified, while company records show investments in firms that are not conducting business activity.
