Man from Luhansk region builds popular Ukrainian restaurant in Latvia

Dmytro Budko works as administrator at the Ukrainian restaurant "SHO", located in Bigauniciems, in Latvia's Tukums municipality. He was born and raised in Ukraine's Luhansk region but now lives in Latvia, where together with friends he is building a restaurant business.

Four years in operation

"SHO" has been open for four years. Over that time it has built a loyal customer base - people who keep coming back to try Ukrainian cuisine. Guests travel to Bigauniciems not only from the surrounding area but also from various other Latvian cities, a sign of the restaurant's popularity well beyond the borders of Tukums municipality.

A shared project among friends

Dmytro develops the restaurant together with his friends, and this joint effort has allowed the business to establish itself and hold its own over the years. The menu features Ukrainian dishes prepared by Ukrainians themselves, making the restaurant a place where visitors can also get acquainted with Ukrainian culinary traditions.
