Mercedes-Benz recalls over 215,000 S-Class cars over brake hose problem
German carmaker Mercedes-Benz is recalling 215,231 S-Class cars worldwide because front-axle brake hoses can become leaky. The hoses will be replaced at a service centre.

German carmaker Mercedes-Benz is recalling 215,231 S-Class cars worldwide, built between June 2019 and November 2024. The recall also covers the sporty AMG and luxury Maybach versions. The reason is a possible brake fluid leak that can reduce braking effectiveness.
What the problem is
The issue affects cars fitted with air suspension. In these models, the front-axle brake hoses can become leaky over time, allowing brake fluid to escape.
If that happens, braking effectiveness is reduced. In such a situation, braking is handled by the second brake circuit. However, there is a possibility that the leaked fluid could also endanger other road users.
How many cars are affected
In Germany, the recall applies to 11,828 vehicles. According to data from the German Federal Motor Transport Authority (KBA), no accidents or injuries have been reported in connection with this defect.
What the manufacturer will do
Mercedes-Benz will notify the owners of the affected cars and ask them to visit a service centre. There, the front-axle brake hoses will be replaced. The work can take up to two hours.
