Motorola has launched the Edge 70 Max, its latest flagship phone designed for power-intensive tasks such as video streaming and mobile gaming. It is the first Android phone to support full 25W wireless charging via the Qi2 standard since Google released the Pixel 10 Pro XL last year. Other Qi2-compatible Android models, including the Pixel 10, Pixel 10 Pro, Pixel 10 Pro Fold, and HMD Skyline, are capped at 15W for magnetic wireless charging.

The Edge 70 Max features a 7100 mAh silicon-carbon battery, significantly larger than the 5200 mAh in the Pixel 10 Pro XL, with Motorola promising “all-day battery life” though no detailed estimates are provided. Over a wired connection, the phone supports 90W charging, which Motorola claims can deliver up to 12 hours of power in just eight minutes.

Other specifications include a Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 processor, 8GB of RAM, and up to 1TB of storage. The 6.82-inch OLED display reaches a peak brightness of 7,000 nits and offers a 144Hz refresh rate for smoother gaming. The rear houses a 50-megapixel Sony Lytia 710 main sensor and an 8-megapixel ultrawide camera, while the front has a 32-megapixel selfie camera.

The Motorola Edge 70 Max is rolling out in the UK and Europe starting today, with prices starting at £699.99/€799.99 (under $950). There is no word on US availability.
