Customs Dog Finds 330 kg of Drugs; Several People Detained
Officers from the State Revenue Service Customs Board discovered 330 kg of narcotics in a customs warehouse with the help of a service dog. Four Latvian citizens have been detained, and searches were conducted in Riga and Liepaja.

While conducting an inspection at a customs warehouse, officials from the State Revenue Service Customs Board used a service dog to search for narcotics. The dog paid particular attention to cardboard boxes, which when opened revealed 330 kilograms of narcotic substances.
Preliminary investigation has established that a Latvian citizen is connected to this criminal offense. This individual had previously come to the attention of the State Police for organizing the sale of trucks and trailers to Russia in a group with others, violating EU sanctions. EU regulations prohibit the sale of such goods to any person in Russia or for use in Russia.
Nine searches were carried out in the homes and offices of the detained individuals in Riga and Liepaja. During these searches, various documents and data carriers were seized. Four persons, all Latvian citizens, have been detained and interrogated. Additionally, property has been seized, including 20 vehicles registered under various companies.
The pre-trial investigation is ongoing to clarify all circumstances of the criminal offenses.
