Despite protective nets, Ukrainian drones burn two Russian oil depots
Two oil depots in Russia’s Tver region burned down after a Ukrainian drone attack, even though the fuel tanks were covered with protective nets.

Two oil depots in Russia’s Tver region caught fire last night and were destroyed. Ukraine’s Security Service (SBU) confirmed that the strikes were carried out by drones.
Satellite imagery had previously shown that the fuel tanks were wrapped in protective nets intended to shield them from drone attacks. However, this defense did not survive its first real test—Ukrainian drones managed to penetrate the nets and set the tanks ablaze.
The SBU officially confirmed the strikes but did not provide further details on the course of the attack or the extent of the damage. This is the latest Ukrainian strike on Russian fuel infrastructure, which continues to degrade Russia’s ability to supply its military.
