Nissan Qashqai Reaches Four Million Units Produced in Europe
Since its debut in 2006, the Nissan Qashqai has reached a production milestone of four million units in Europe, solidifying its role in the compact crossover segment.

Nissan has achieved a significant production milestone in Europe: four million Qashqai units have been built since the model's first generation launched in 2006. The Qashqai is credited with pioneering the compact crossover segment in Europe, and it is now in its third generation.
Over two decades, the Qashqai has earned more than 110 international awards, including being named Car of the Year in several countries. It remains one of Nissan's most successful models in Europe, competing with popular crossovers such as the Volkswagen Tiguan, Hyundai Tucson, and Kia Sportage. All Qashqai destined for the European market are produced at Nissan's Sunderland plant in the UK, one of the company's key manufacturing hubs outside Japan.
Currently, the Nissan Qashqai is available in Europe with two electrified petrol powertrains. The first is a 1.3-liter DIG-T Mild Hybrid producing 158 hp, featuring a 12V mild hybrid system that aids acceleration and reduces fuel consumption. The second is the 1.5-liter e-POWER system delivering up to 205 hp. This unique Nissan full hybrid system drives the wheels solely with an electric motor, while the petrol engine acts only as a generator to charge the battery. The car does not require plugging in, but offers an EV-like driving experience with instant acceleration and quiet operation.
