Parties That Lost Seats in Saeima Gear Up for Elections with New Leaders and Names
Several parties that failed to pass the 5% threshold in the 2022 Saeima elections plan to run again in the October 2026 elections, having changed leaders, coalition partners, and names.

Several political parties and politicians who suffered a painful disappointment four years ago – failing to be re-elected into parliament – are planning to participate in the upcoming 15th Saeima elections in October. According to Latvian Television's program "De facto," over the past years these forces have undergone significant changes: they have altered their cooperation partners, leaders, names, and even the names of individual politicians. Now they are once again ready to join the battle for parliamentary seats.
While specific party names and leaders were not disclosed, the program indicates that several of the parties that failed to enter the 14th Saeima have restructured and are hoping for a better outcome this autumn. These changes reflect the dynamic nature of Latvia's political landscape, where parties seek to adapt to voter demands and improve their chances of entering the Saeima.
