Pitbull and fans set Guinness World Record for largest gathering of bald cap wearers at Hyde Park
Rapper Pitbull and 22,141 fans set a Guinness World Record for the largest gathering of people wearing bald caps at Hyde Park in London.

On Friday afternoon in Hyde Park, London, 22,141 people donned tight plastic bald caps, white shirts, black ties, and aviator sunglasses in 30°C (86°F) heat. The stunt was both a tribute to rapper Pitbull, the headliner of the BST festival, and a successful Guinness World Record attempt for the "largest gathering of people wearing bald caps."
Pitbull, who is bald himself, had to wear a bald cap to be counted in the record. Official adjudicator Will Munford explained that it was not a record for bald people, so the rapper needed the cap. To ensure accuracy, 400 volunteers checked attendees at the entrance, and drone footage with 42 counters was used.
The record attempt originated with fan Jack Remmington, a podcast host and cultural commentator. When BST announced Pitbull's performance last year, Remmington posted a tongue-in-cheek TikTok video suggesting the venue's capacity could break the record for people cosplaying as Pitbull. The video went viral, leading to contacts with Guinness World Records and BBC Radio 1, and Pitbull agreed with a "Dale!" (Spanish for "go ahead")
Pitbull has nicknamed his fans the "baldies," and sells official Mr Worldwide kits and bald caps on his website, both sold out. Some fans, like Lucy and her friend Hannah, struggled to find caps before the event. Others, like Shawna and Jack, are not diehard fans but came for a carefree nostalgic night.
Upon receiving the certificate before his performance, an emotional Pitbull said, "It's a blessing and an honour to see the baldies in London."
