PTAC suspends tour operator Digitours licence over refund complaints
Latvia's Consumer Rights Protection Centre has received complaints that Digitours cancels booked trips and fails to refund payments, prompting the suspension of its tour operator licence. Affected customers are urged to keep all transaction documents.
The Consumer Rights Protection Centre (PTAC) in Latvia has issued a public warning about the tour operator “Digitours”. The authority says there is a risk that the company may fail to provide paid-for services and will not return customers’ money.
PTAC has received several consumer complaints stating that Digitours cancels previously booked trips and does not refund the amounts already paid. Based on these identified circumstances, PTAC decided to suspend the tour operator licence issued to the company. As a result, Digitours is no longer allowed to provide package travel services.
The centre calls on customers who have already purchased trips from Digitours but have not received the service or a refund to keep all documents related to the transaction, including contracts, payment confirmations and correspondence with the company.
PTAC says it will inform customers about the refund procedure once additional information has been received, and asks consumers to follow its official announcements.
