Record Prices for Fleckvieh Bulls: Top Sale Reaches €222,000
At Bavarian Fleckvieh cattle breeding auctions, a single breeding bull has fetched up to €222,000. German outlet agrarheute has compiled the most expensive animals sold.

The German farming outlet agrarheute has published an overview of the most expensive Fleckvieh breeding bulls sold at auctions held by Bavarian cattle breeding associations. Fleckvieh is a widely kept dual-purpose cattle breed used for both meat and milk. Artificial insemination stations buy the animals at these auctions and use their genetics for breeding. The ranking was compiled by Ariane Haubner and makes no claim to completeness.
The highest prices
The record was set on 4 June 2025 at the breeding cattle market in Schwandorf by the bull Melodie Pp*. Eurogenetik paid €222,000 for the animal, which was born in 2024 and sold by Götz GbR of Großalfalterbach and Andreas Böhm of Oppertshofen.
In second place is Witness P*S, bought by the Rivergen station for €206,000 at the Bayreuth market on 9 February 2024. It is the second bull to exceed €200,000.
Third is Mavant PS at €184,000, sold in Wertingen on 2 September, again to Rivergen. He is a half-brother of record holder Melodie Pp: both come from the cow Arkana, owned by Andreas Böhm. Mavant P*S is the ninth young bull from Arkana to be bought by an insemination station.
