Peteris and Ieva Langrats live and work on the Siliņi farm in Ledmane Parish, in Latvia's Ogre Municipality. Both grew up in Riga, and they met at the Bulduri technical school. Seven years ago they decided to leave the city and move to Ieva's ancestral family estate in Ledmane Parish.

A business in the countryside

The couple now work in their own company, Gardi ziedi. There they grow edible flowers, plants and herbs, which are intended for restaurants.

Where the story comes from

The couple's story was told by the Latvian Radio programme Stiprie stāsti ("Strong Stories"), which features people who have changed their way of life.

According to the source, the move to the countryside was the fulfilment of a dream. This short report gives no further details about the company's operations, products or restaurant partners.
