Latvian MP Igors Rajevs leaves politics to go into business
Igors Rajevs, an outgoing member of Latvia's parliament, the Saeima, has decided not to continue in active politics because he sees no place for himself and no force to work with. He plans to work in the private sector.

Igors Rajevs, an outgoing member of the Saeima, Latvia's parliament, has decided not to continue active involvement in politics. He told the news agency LETA that he sees no future place for himself in the political environment and has not found a political force he would want to work with. Rajevs did not take part in the elections to the 15th Saeima.
"I did not take part in the elections because I did not see my use in politics going forward, and I did not see the force with which I could work together," Rajevs explained.
Plans for the future
Asked about what comes next, Rajevs said he intends to work in business. According to him, he plans to operate in the private sector.
Political background
According to the Central Election Commission, Rajevs was born in 1970 and has a higher education. Until now he has worked as a member of the Saeima. Before entering politics, he served for a long time in the National Armed Forces and worked as a military analyst.
In the 14th Saeima, Rajevs was elected from the electoral alliance "Apvienotais saraksts" (United List), but he later left the parliamentary group.
He is not the only one to take this path: several members of the 14th Saeima have decided, after the elections to the 15th Saeima, not to continue their political careers or did not run in the elections, choosing to work in other sectors instead.
