The latest 55-inch Samsung The Frame television is now available from the US retailer Amazon for around $897.99. That is $402 below the usual price and the lowest the model has been offered for so far. The Frame is a TV designed to look like a framed piece of art rather than a black rectangle on the wall. Larger sizes are discounted too: the new 98-inch version costs $3,749.99, which is $1,252 less than before.

What is new in the 2026 model

Compared with its predecessor, the 2026 model has changed little. The main hardware change is that this size has its ports built into the set itself, rather than relying on Samsung's separate One Connect Box.

As with earlier models, it has a matte, canvas-like screen that looks more like a real painting than a glossy TV panel. A built-in motion sensor detects when someone enters the room and can automatically show artwork, adjusting brightness and colors to the ambient light.

Art Store and what is in the box

The TV supports Samsung's Art Store, which offers more than 5,000 works, from world-famous galleries to lesser-known independent artists. A full subscription costs $49.99 a year, while 30 new rotating artworks are available free every month. The box includes a wall mount and a black bezel, and extra magnetic frame styles are sold separately.

Picture quality

The Frame prioritizes style over image quality, so it may not suit film enthusiasts willing to pay more for a brighter picture, deeper blacks and more lifelike colors. It does offer a refresh rate of up to 144Hz with variable refresh rate support for smoother gaming, plus HDR10 Plus and Dolby Atmos support.
