Women's voices must be heard in the public and political life of Ukraine
The full-scale invasion has had a different impact on women and men, with women taking on greater responsibilities in families, local leadership, and humanitarian aid.
Since the start of Russia's full-scale invasion, every aspect of public life in Ukraine has been transformed. While both women and men have suffered from the consequences of conflict, displacement, and economic hardship, the war has affected them differently. Women have assumed greater responsibilities in their families, as well as in regional and local leadership, humanitarian response, and local governance. They often become the backbone of social resilience in times of crisis.
To ensure that women's experiences and needs are taken into account, it is crucial that their voices are heard in public and political life. This is necessary not only for justice but also for effective recovery and sustainable development in Ukraine.
