Italy's Jannik Sinner successfully defended his Wimbledon title on Sunday, beating Germany's Alexander Zverev 6-7 (7-9), 7-6 (7-2), 6-3, 6-4. Sinner, the world No.1, faced Zverev, the world No.3 and this year's French Open champion.

The first set saw only one break point, which Sinner failed to convert in the eighth game. He then lost the tiebreak 7-9. In the second set, both players held serve, leading to another tiebreak, which Sinner won 7-2. The third set was decided by a single break in the eighth game, giving Sinner a 5-3 lead; he then held to love. In the fourth set, Sinner broke for 4-3 in the seventh game after three break points and converted his first match point at 6-4.

Zverev hit more aces (17-15) and a higher first-serve percentage (76% to 64%), while both had two double faults. However, Sinner dominated other stats, committing far fewer unforced errors (25 to 45) and winning 145 of 275 points.

This is Sinner's second Wimbledon title, adding to his two Australian Open titles, one US Open, and a final at Roland Garros in 2025. Zverev, at 29 years and 70 days, became the oldest male player in the Open Era to reach all four Grand Slam finals.
