Final extension: Startup Battlefield Australia applications now close July 20
TechCrunch has extended the application deadline for Startup Battlefield Australia to July 20, giving early-stage startups from Australia and New Zealand one more chance to compete for a spot at the global stage.

TechCrunch has announced a final extension for applications to Startup Battlefield Australia, moving the deadline to July 20. Due to overwhelming interest, this is the last opportunity to apply for the competition. Since its inception in 2017, the program has produced 26 alumni companies that collectively raised over $147 million and saw three successful acquisitions. These startups have been backed by top investors including Y Combinator, Blackbird Ventures, Square Peg Capital, Khosla Ventures, Microsoft, AirTree Ventures, Startmate, Techstars, and SOSV.
Selected founders will pitch live on August 19, 2026, at Stripe Tour Sydney. Eight startups will compete for up to $15,000 in Stripe fee credits for the top three, and the grand prize is automatic entry into Startup Battlefield 200 at TechCrunch Disrupt in San Francisco this October. This is a direct path to one of the world’s biggest startup stages, offering visibility, credibility, and connections that can take years to build.
Eligible startups are early-stage companies from Australia and New Zealand at pre-seed to Series B stage, with a real product or strong traction. The application is free and requires no equity. The deadline is July 20. For more information, visit the TechCrunch website. Isabelle Johannessen leads Startup Battlefield and oversees the scouting and preparation of founders.
