‘Tautumeitas’ invite to third dawn concert ritual – this time at Sveikuļu kalns
The Latvian group ‘Tautumeitas’ is holding their third annual overnight concert ritual, this year on June 19-20 at Sveikuļu kalns, featuring 38 songs that lead the audience to sunrise. In an interview, the musicians discuss how Eurovision impacted their career and the making of their new album.

For the third consecutive year, the band ‘Tautumeitas’ will perform a special all-night concert. The ritual takes place on the night of June 19-20 at Sveikuļu kalns, with a setlist of 38 songs culminating at dawn. The location is chosen carefully – the group scouts various hills and ancient mounds, often relying on recommendations from friends and acquaintances. The musicians emphasize that they want to travel across Latvia and have no intention of settling on a fixed venue yet.
Since participating in Eurovision, the band has experienced both personal growth and tangible professional results. Thanks to the contest, ‘Tautumeitas’ performed in Lithuania and established a collaboration with artist Petūnija, who will join them for the dawn ritual. A European tour is also in the works, imminent to be announced. Other collaborations are still under development and cannot be disclosed yet.
The group is also working on a new album with a Midsummer (Jāņi) theme. In the interview, they share thoughts on Midsummer traditions and how they incorporate them into their music. ‘Tautumeitas’ stress that this event is not a typical concert but a ritual that requires extensive preparation, as they must build all infrastructure themselves without an existing backstage area.
