The technology news outlet TechCrunch will hold Founder Summit, a one-day event for startup founders, at the SoWa Power Station in Boston, United States, on November 4. With seven days to go, organizers note that tickets can currently be bought at a discount of up to $100, and that prices will rise once the event gets under way.

The organizers describe Founder Summit as a founder 101 bootcamp. It is aimed both at people launching a first startup and at those preparing for another funding round or for scaling their business.

What the program includes

The event will feature two Q&A breakout stages and two interactive roundtable rooms. The program includes:

  • practical breakout sessions on fundraising, hiring, product-market fit, AI strategy and growth;
  • candid roundtable discussions with experienced operators and investors;
  • live pitching with investor feedback;
  • networking through Braindate, a platform enabling one-on-one and small-group conversations;
  • official side events in Boston that extend the conversations with the local startup community.

Who is speaking

Among the speakers is Kent Bennett of the venture capital firm Bessemer Venture Partners, who will discuss validating customer demand and recognizing signs of product-market fit. Vineet Edupuganti of Cogent Security will speak about attracting talent and building a team. Chase Garbarino of HqO will share experience of building a company outside a major hub rather than in Silicon Valley.

Dave Balter of True Ventures and Edisyl will lead a session on sharpening a startup pitch, while Tina Tosukhowong of TDK Ventures will explain how investors evaluate startups by looking at economics, scalability, competitive positioning and commercial timing. The full speaker lineup is available on the event website.
