Twin Sisters' Art Exhibition 'Stop: Century' Opens in Jelgava Tower
From June 27 to August 9, the exhibition of paintings by Zita and Vita Studente is on display at the Jelgava St. Trinity Church Tower, dedicated to their 50th birthday.

An exhibition of paintings by twin sisters Zita Studente and Vita Studente, titled “Stop: Century” (Pietura: Gadsimts), opened on June 27 at the Jelgava St. Trinity Church Tower. The exhibition will run until August 9. A special opening event took place at 3 p.m. on June 27, featuring a meeting with the artists.
Both sisters were born and raised in Jelgava, where they still live with their families. They hold degrees in economics and law. Vita works as a senior lawyer at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, while Zita serves as a judge at the Zemgale District Court in Dobele. Painting has been their hobby for nearly ten years, inspired by their grandfather, who also pursued creative activities in his spare time despite being a civil servant.
In 2024, the sisters completed courses at the Latvian Academy of Arts and are now members of the Jelgava Folk Painting Studio. Since 2023, they have held several joint exhibitions, the first being “Dedication to Grandfather”. Their latest show, “Stop: Century”, is dedicated to the twins' 50th birthday. The works are oil paintings on canvas depicting urban landscapes. The exhibition is open to visitors until August 9.
