President Donald Trump has finalized new tariffs targeting multiple countries. According to the announcement, tariffs on generic drugs will be set at 100% starting August 2028, rising to 200% a year later. This move is part of a broader trade policy.

Additionally, Trump threatened a 50% tariff hike on Canadian goods, scheduled to take effect in one month. This escalation intensifies North American trade negotiations.

Separately, France and several other countries have entered discussions with the US to avoid trade probes into drug pricing. The U.S. Trade Representative has warned that these countries could face investigations similar to those already initiated against Germany, prompting talks on potential off-ramps.
