Tusk welcomes Zelenskyy's decision on Ukrainian-Polish relations
Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk has welcomed Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy's announcement of new initiatives in bilateral relations, particularly regarding historical issues.

Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk expressed his approval of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy's decision concerning relations between the two countries. In a post on X, Tusk stated that Poland is ready for "serious and friendly dialogue" on matters that unite and divide the nations. He emphasized that relations should be based on mutual respect and truth.
Earlier, Zelenskyy had announced the preparation of new solutions in relations with Poland, including addressing historical issues, opening archives, and conducting search and exhumation work in Volhynia. This move is seen as an effort to resolve long-standing disputes between the two countries.
Polish Defense Minister Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz, speaking in Volhynia on the anniversary of the Volhynia tragedy, highlighted the importance of reconciliation and the unacceptability of a "spiral of hatred." His remarks align with Tusk's call for dialogue, signaling a shared willingness to address historical grievances.
