Tusk warns Polish politicians not to 'play with fire' over aid to Ukraine
Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk has warned politicians not to jeopardize military aid to Ukraine, responding to opposition criticism over Patriot missile deliveries.

Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk has urged the country's politicians not to threaten cooperation with Ukraine in its defense against Russia's attack. He warned other politicians, including Polish President Karol Nawrocki, not to play with fire on this issue. Opposition politicians have accused the government of delivering Patriot missiles to Ukraine without parliamentary and presidential approval, claiming it could endanger Poland's security.
In response to the criticism, Tusk stated that every missile launched in Ukraine that destroys the attacker's projectiles, missiles, drones, and aircraft means greater security for Poland. He emphasized that Poland's aid to Ukraine is part of the political and national consensus. Tusk's government has announced that it will publish information on all military aid to Ukraine since Russia's renewed invasion in February 2022.
Patriot missiles are the best defense against the ballistic missiles Russia uses to attack Ukraine, but Ukraine lacks them. According to available information, none of the 29 missiles used in the attack on Ukraine that night were intercepted. A Ukrainian air force spokesman acknowledged that they are short of air defense missiles.
