Ukraine officially approves 1,000 types of weaponry for service in 2026 so far
Ukraine's Ministry of Defence has codified and authorized 1,000 models of weapons and military equipment since the start of 2026, a more than 50% increase compared to the same period last year.

Ukraine's Ministry of Defence announced that it has officially authorized the use of 1,000 types of weaponry by the country's defence forces since the beginning of 2026. During the same period last year, 659 models had been codified and approved, marking a year-on-year increase of over 50%.
The list includes more than 300 unmanned aerial vehicles, 188 types of ammunition, 128 communications equipment models, over 60 electronic warfare and signals intelligence systems, 50 ground robotic systems, and nearly 50 armoured vehicles and specialised armoured cars. Most of these items are already in service with Ukrainian forces.
Notably, 892 of the 1,000 codified models — nearly 90% — are of Ukrainian origin. Last year, the share of Ukrainian-origin equipment was 69.6%, and the year before it was 74.6%, reflecting the growing capacity of the domestic defence industry.
In addition to lethal weapons, the ministry has codified 68 vehicles of various types, 34 logistical equipment items, 16 engineering assets, and nine maintenance-related assets for military equipment. The arsenal has also been supplemented with new small arms, naval surface assets, optical equipment, NBC protection systems, decoys, software, and other categories.
Earlier, Ukrainska Pravda reported that the ministry had approved the NEO-1 mine-clearance robot and the Wolfstorm electric motorcycle capable of carrying two soldiers.
