Ukraine conducted another massive drone attack on Russian territory overnight into Saturday. The attack targeted St. Petersburg and the Leningrad region, where explosions were heard and smoke columns were seen. Online publication "Bumaga" reported that the St. Petersburg oil terminal was on fire, with the blaze initially starting on June 3 during the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum. Independent analysis confirmed the oil terminal was the target.
In Belgorod, the city was largely left without electricity after strikes hit major power substations. Power outages were also reported in nearby towns and settlements. Local authorities confirmed damage to critical infrastructure.
Leningrad region governor Alexander Drozdenko stated that 67 Ukrainian drones were shot down over the region. Russia's Defense Ministry claimed a total of 389 drones were intercepted over Russia and occupied Crimea. Russian authorities did not disclose how many drones reached their targets, but experts estimate that 10–15% of launched drones hit their intended objectives.
