The Ukrainian government, after coordination with the president, has appointed Yevhenii Hmara as acting defense minister and Andrii Sybiha as acting foreign minister. The prime minister stated that these decisions are necessary to ensure continuity in defense and foreign policy.
The government also approved a restructuring of ministries in line with parliamentary decisions. Among the changes, the Ministry of Agrarian Policy was reinstated, and a separate Ministry of Communities, Territories, and Internally Displaced Persons was created. Additionally, the economic and environmental portfolios were separated, as were the areas of reconstruction, infrastructure, and transport.
Earlier, the Ukrainian parliament approved the new government's composition on Thursday, but the positions of defense and foreign ministers were left unfilled, hence the appointment of acting officials.
