Getting up in the morning is difficult for many people, and to avoid being late for work or school, they set two, three or even more alarms. Experts nevertheless warn that this habit may not make a person feel more energetic; on the contrary, it can harm the quality of sleep and affect well-being throughout the day.

Waking up several times and falling back asleep after repeated alarm signals often interrupts the REM sleep phase. This stage is one of the most important because the brain processes information and consolidates memories during it. If this phase is disrupted, daily work performance, learning and concentration can suffer.

Specialists point out that waking up multiple times in the morning can cause sleep inertia, which is a state of increased drowsiness and fatigue. It can also lead to mood swings and elevated cortisol levels. Each alarm ring triggers a stress response in the body, so several alarms in the morning place additional strain on the body.
