Summer Solstice Celebration at Limbaži Lielezers: A Magical Meeting of Fire and Water
On June 21, a summer solstice celebration will take place at Limbaži Lielezers, starting at 7 PM, featuring traditional activities, performances, and a communal farewell to the sun.
On June 21, from 7 PM onwards, everyone is invited to celebrate the summer solstice at Limbaži Lielezers. Attendees can make their own torches, try walking on wooden legs, participate in family games, and join a masterclass on constructing fire barrels.
The festive atmosphere will be enhanced by performances from the senior dance group of the Limbaži Children and Youth Center's ensemble "Varavīksne," as well as collective dances and games. A special ambiance will be created by the meeting of fire and water – bonfires, fire barrels, and torches will glow on the shore, while the evening lights reflect on the lake.
At 9 PM, a sun farewell will take place with a group torch procession to the bonfire site, where the Solstice fire will be lit, followed by dancing in the summer evening atmosphere. The event is organized by Limbaži Culture House in cooperation with Limbaži Municipality, hosted by Ansis Jansons. Photography and filming will be conducted during the event.
