During a storm early Sunday, a break-in occurred at a Bite Latvija customer service centre in Riga's Andreja Saharova iela, with several electronic devices stolen. Police have been notified and launched an investigation.

In the early hours of Sunday, around 1 a.m., a theft took place during a storm at the "Maxima" shopping centre premises on Andreja Saharova iela 20a in Riga. News agency LETA was informed of the incident by Bite Latvija representative Una Ahuna-Ozola.
According to information provided by the company, an unknown person first forced entry through the shopping centre's front doors, then headed to the Bite Latvija customer service centre, where they smashed the store's glass doors and stole several electronic devices.
Incident lasted only minutes
According to information available to the company, the crime lasted about five minutes from start to finish. State Police have been informed of the break-in and have already launched an investigation. Bite Latvija representatives say the company is cooperating with law enforcement authorities and is currently determining the number of devices stolen and the extent of the damage.
The company reported that the customer service centre has since resumed operations.
The theft occurred on the same night that a powerful storm swept through Riga, causing damage in the city centre on August 22.
Bite Latvija was registered in 2005 and has a share capital of 44 million euros. The company's sole owner is Lithuania's Bite group, which in turn is owned by global asset management firm Providence Equity Partners.
