Wiggins signs extension with Heat – new deal worth $34 million
Andrew Wiggins, acquired by the Miami Heat in a trade, has agreed to a contract extension that will take effect after next season.

Andrew Wiggins, who recently joined the Miami Heat via trade, has reached an agreement on a new contract with the team, according to reporter Shams Charania.
The 31-year-old forward had a player option worth $30 million on his current contract for the upcoming season. Under the new deal, Wiggins will exercise that option, meaning he will play the 2024/25 season under his existing contract. After that, a new two-year contract worth $34 million will come into effect.
The agreement also includes a player option before the 2028/29 season, allowing Wiggins to terminate his relationship with the club if he chooses.
Last season, Wiggins averaged 15.4 points and 4.8 rebounds per game. He won an NBA championship with the Golden State Warriors in 2022.
The Miami Heat have undergone significant roster changes this offseason. In order to acquire Giannis Antetokounmpo in a trade, the team parted ways with several key rotation players. As a result, the franchise still has substantial work ahead to build a competitive lineup for the upcoming season.
