Singer Dzintars Čīča returns to Latvian stages in November with “Zelta izlase” concerts
Latvian singer Dzintars Čīča will perform in five Latvian cities in November alongside Jānis Krūmiņs and Silvestrs Lorencs. In an interview he spoke about his partner Antra Stepane and his children from a previous relationship.

Latvian singer Dzintars Čīča is set to return to the country's concert stages in November after a lengthy break. Together with Jānis Krūmiņš of the band “Apvedceļš” and Silvestrs Lorencs of the band “Zelta Kniede”, he will give concerts in five Latvian cities under the title “Zelta izlase” (“Golden Selection”). Čīča has been far less visible in the public eye in recent years. “I am eagerly looking forward to meeting listeners in Latvia!” he said.
The programme
The concerts will feature core songs from the singer's repertoire, “Vijolnieks” and “Likteņlīnijas”, as well as “Tu esi vasara”, “Par to” and “Nāc un dziedi”. Čīča chose one song himself: Jānis Stībelis's “Tikai tev”.
Musicologist and Latvian Radio 2 presenter Daiga Mazvērsīte will add to the evening by sharing stories about the songs, performers and authors. Musical accompaniment will be provided by the band “Armaestro”, led by Anatolijs Livča.
Personal life
Čīča says an important source of support for him now is his partner Antra Stepane, 30, from Talsi. The couple have been together for more than two years. “We live well and harmoniously. Antra inspires me to sing, not to give up and to enjoy every moment of love,” the musician says.
He also has two children from a previous relationship: seven-year-old Gabriela and five-year-old Markuss. The children have not lived with their father day to day for almost three years, but he tries to spend as much time with them as possible. Čīča is also glad that the children and Antra get along well: “The children and Antra are good friends, which makes me very happy.”
