European champion Verro wins again at Diamond League stop in Lausanne
Estonia's Renita Verro won the women's 800m at Friday's Diamond League meeting in Lausanne, as several other events produced new meeting records.

The Diamond League circuit continued on Friday in Lausanne, where European champion Renita Verro of Estonia won the women's 800m. Her winning time of 1:55.33 was well off the meeting record set at the European Championships, but was enough to secure victory and set a new meeting record for Lausanne. The Netherlands' Femke Bol finished second in 1:55.41, setting a national record.
In the men's 800m, world and Olympic champion Emmanuel Wanyonyi of Kenya won in 1:42.19, ahead of Algeria's Djamel Sedjati.
Sprint events
In the women's 200m, American Kayla White won in 22.18 seconds, followed by European champion Amy Hunt (22.32) and Nigeria's Favour Ofili, who matched Hunt's time. Botswana's Olympic champion Letsile Tebogo won the men's 200m in 19.87 seconds.
Meeting records were also set by American Masai Russell in the 100m hurdles (12.27) and American Rai Benjamin in the 400m hurdles (46.67), surpassing the historic 1981 record set by Edwin Moses.
Pole vault and Latvia's representative
On Thursday, Sweden's four-time European champion Armand Duplantis won the pole vault with a new meeting record of 6.21 metres. Latvia's javelin thrower Anete Sietiņa placed seventh in Lausanne. The Diamond League season will conclude with the final in Brussels in early September.
