20 Home Cafés to Participate in Jelgava Region’s Home Café Days

The Home Café Days will take place in the Jelgava region on August 8-9, with 20 home cafés opening their doors to visitors across various parishes. Seven of these cafés are joining the event for the first time.

This marks the fifth participation of the Jelgava region in the event. The initiative began in 2022, when 11 home cafés took part, following a proposal by local hosts and the association "Lauku partnerība "Lielupe"". Since then, the number of participants has varied, but this year it reaches a record high of 20.

In addition to food, many cafés will offer extra activities such as excursions, creative workshops, musical performances, tastings, quizzes, farm visits, and opportunities to purchase local products.

The home cafés will be located in the following parishes: Glūda, Svēte, Cena, Līvbērze, Vilce, Zaļenieki, Platone, Vircava, Salgale, Kalnciems, Jaunsvirlauka, and Ozolnieki.

Visitors are advised to pre-register at cafés where it is mandatory or where capacity is limited. This helps hosts prepare the right amount of food and ensure a smooth experience.

The Home Café Days are organized by the Latvian Investment and Development Agency and the Latvian Rural Tourism Association "Lauku ceļotājs". In the Jelgava region, the event is coordinated by the association "Lauku partnerība "Lielupe"" in partnership with the Jelgava region municipality and the Jelgava Regional Tourism Information Centre.
