Chinese company unveils self-driving toilet that comes to you
A Chinese company called Yueban has introduced the Xiaoban, an autonomous toilet that navigates through homes and care facilities using lidar and ultrasonic sensors, similar to robot vacuums.

At a recent expo in Shanghai focused on elderly care, assistive devices, and rehabilitation medicine, Chinese firm Yueban showcased a smart toilet unlike any other—the Xiaoban. This autonomous toilet is designed to come to the user, improving accessibility for those with mobility issues due to age, injury, or disability.
Equipped with lidar and ultrasonic sensors, the Xiaoban can autonomously plan safe routes through a home or care facility, avoiding obstacles and stairs when summoned via remote or voice commands. While users may still need assistance getting onto the toilet, it eliminates the need to relocate to a bathroom.
The toilet features a built-in bidet, warm air drying, and a self-cleaning system that seals waste inside an enclosed receptacle. Ultraviolet lights kill bacteria to minimize odors. After use, the Xiaoban returns to its charging dock. If the dock is connected to plumbing, it recharges, refills water, and empties pulverized waste. Otherwise, it stops at a traditional toilet and pumps the waste into it using an extending arm.
Priced at ¥28,999 in China (about $4,300), global availability has not been confirmed. The Xiaoban doesn't replace caregivers but eases their workload by reducing the need to assist with bathroom trips and handling cleanup.
