Art Exhibition About People and Time Opens at the Stroller Museum in Käru
The Stroller Museum in the Estonian village of Käru has opened the exhibition "Life With and Without Strollers", featuring portraits of the museum's volunteers. It will run until the end of December 2026.

A new art exhibition, "Life With and Without Strollers" (in Estonian, "Elu kärudega ja elu kärudeta"), has been officially opened at the Stroller Museum in the village of Käru, Estonia. The project took a full year to prepare and brought together professional artists, local young people and the museum's permanent supporters, its volunteers. The exhibition will remain open until the end of December 2026.
Origins of the idea
The idea emerged last winter through cooperation with museum activist Ave Bremse. The project was conceived as a dialogue between generations and styles: the artists painted portraits of the museum's volunteers, capturing living faces and the human stories behind the museum space. Young people from Käru also took an active part in the work.
Participants
The paintings were created by artists working in a range of styles: Anna Mikityuk, Nadezhda Dementyeva, Ave Bremse, Tairi Tamme, Liivika Krigoltoi, Timur Trofimov, Milana and Kristel Reim. The subjects of their works are museum volunteers Liia Sizask, Kaja Vilipus, Riina Kalvet, Maimo Nõps, Svetlana Trofimova and Lyudmila Surzhikova.
Museum founder Alena Surzhikova said that the concept was discussed in detail with Ave Bremse back in January. In her view, cooperation with creative people has always been the foundation of the museum's life, and the participation of Käru's young people is especially valuable. Surzhikova thanked the artists, the volunteers and everyone who helped turn the idea into reality.
The exhibition is open to all residents and visitors of the village. The museum is open on weekends from 12:00 to 16:00.
