Petlibro outage leaves pets without scheduled meals
A service outage at smart pet device maker Petlibro that began on Tuesday knocked out scheduled feedings, water fountains and litter boxes for many users. The company said Wednesday that most service has been restored, though some devices still won't reconnect.

A widespread outage hit Petlibro's smart pet care devices on Tuesday, leaving many animals without their scheduled feedings. The company makes app-controlled smart feeders, water fountains and automatic litter boxes that run on preset schedules.
Users on Reddit reported that their feeders, fountains and litter boxes had gone offline. The situation was particularly worrying for pet owners who were away from home when the outage struck, since Petlibro's RFID and Granary feeders reportedly failed to dispense scheduled meals. This contradicted the company's own statement that settings and schedules stored locally on devices would keep operating as programmed — many affected users said that simply wasn't their experience.
Problems also extended to Petlibro's Dockstream smart fountains and Luma litter boxes, and the companion app itself stopped working for some users entirely.
Company response
On Tuesday, Petlibro acknowledged a service issue affecting some app functions and said its team was actively restoring service and bringing functionality back in stages. By Wednesday afternoon, the company said much of the service had been restored while it continued working toward full operation. Some users reported their devices had started functioning again, while others were still struggling to reconnect them to the app. The Verge contacted Petlibro for further comment but had not received a response.
