Lithuanian police reported that at approximately 11:40 AM on Monday, they received an email claiming that explosives had been placed in two buildings owned by the company Teltonika – one in Vilnius and one in Kaunas. The information was confirmed by the Kaunas District Chief Police Commissariat.
Employees were immediately evacuated from the affected buildings, but a thorough search by law enforcement did not find any explosives or suspicious objects. Police Department spokesperson Ramūns Matonis stated that additional bomb threats were also made against a high-tech company’s office in Vilnius, which specializes in Internet of Things (IoT) solutions. No danger was found there either.
Furthermore, similar threats were received at another office building and an emergency medical department in Kaunas. In all cases, the premises were searched and no explosives were discovered. Police are continuing their investigation to determine the circumstances and identify those responsible.
